Welcome to Year 1 & 2!

This year we have three classes in Key Stage 1.

Holly Class is a Year 1/2 class and is taught by Mrs Sheriff

Pine Class is a Year 1 /2 class and is taught by Mrs Stone

Maple Class is a Year 1/2 class and is taught by Mrs Noyes and Mrs Wilson.

We are continuing to use a phonic scheme this year called Rocket Phonics. We hope you are enjoying the online books which are matched to our scheme.

Autumn Term

We are enjoying getting to know your children. learning what they enjoy and finding out how much they already know. This term we have two exciting topics and will be using these to help structure our learning. Some curriculum subjects do not fit into out topic themes and so these will be taught as stand alone subjects.

Spring Term

In the first half term we have a history focus and will learn about inventions, finding out about some local people who made some big changes. After half term we will have a geography focus and find out about the continent of Africa. We will discover how life in Africa might be different from life in England. Summer Term

It only seems like a few weeks ago when we were welcoming the children into a new year and now we are already in the Summer Term. Like us we are sure you have noticed how grown up they all are and how they are growing both older and more mature. We are looking forward to enjoying the sunshine and using our outdoor areas a little bit more.
