In Elm and Oak Classes we have lots of fun at school every day, learning through play and exciting experiences!

We practice counting, phonics, writing, reading, speaking and listening all of the time. We also work on our, physical, social and creative skills too, as they are just as important.

We plan and work closely with staff in Foundation Stage 1 (Nursery).

In Elm Class the teachers are Mrs Traylor and Mrs Rowson and they are supported by Mrs Collins, Mrs Reale and Mrs Vine. In Oak Class the teachers are Miss Hall and Mrs Leafe and they are supported by Mrs Sheppard. During this year we will be settling into our new class, learning the routines and making lots of lovely new friends! We will also be learning to write our names, having a daily phonics session and practising our counting up to 20.

How to Help Your Child With Reading

Click the image below to open a powerpoint about how you can best support your children when you are reading with them at home. Reading is taught in school but those children who access books at home as well as school tend to learn to read more quickly. Children enjoy listening to stories as well as practising reading so it is an excellent idea to do both. Keep up the good work!
