Welcome to year 3/4!

We are really looking forward to getting to know your children and encouraging them to be the best they can be!

This year we have 2 classes:

Ash class is taught by Miss Hodgkinson and Mrs Johal.

Willow class is taught by Miss Knight.

The children will also be taught on a Thursday morning by Mrs Mangiza (PE) and Mrs Dann (music).

Key Information

  • We are a sporty lot in 3/4 so please ensure your child has their full PE kit (details can be found in the parents section of the website) in school every day.
  • We encourage every child to read at least three times a week at home.
  • Times tables are also important so please help your child practise these (a list will be added to your child’s organiser).
  • The useful links section at the bottom of the page has links to helpful websites if you want to further support your child at home.
  • In the Autumn term, year 4 children will be going swimming. More information about this will be shared at our parents meeting.
This term we have a history focus and are learning about the Stone Age. The children always enjoy finding out about this particular era. We are also lucky enough to be having a visit from a Geologist who will tell us all about different rocks and crystals.
Have a look at our topic web for a little bit more information.

This term we will have a geographical focus to our learning and will think about places around the world. We will also be hard at work in science, investigating different questions. We will find out where it would be best to put washing to dry so maybe you could ask your children for some advice (or even some help with the washing).

Spring Term Planning

This term we have a history focus and are learning about the Romans. The children always enjoy finding out about the different types of armour the soldiers wore and how they met in combat. We also find out how the Romans were really skilled at building and how they enjoyed a range of leisure activities.
