Curriculum Intent RE
At Wadsworth Fields Primary School we provide children with a challenging and engaging RE curriculum that gives children knowledge and understanding of a range of religions and world views, enabling them to to develop their ideas, values and identity. Pupils will learn how to study religions and world views systematically, by following a carefully sequenced curriculum which allows children to develop their understanding and their abilty to reflect on the impact of religions and world views on contemporary life nationally and globally.
As they progress through the units of study pupils will gain skills needed to interpret and evaluate evidence, texts and sources of wisdom. They will learn how to formulate and articulate their own personal beliefs, ideas and values and also to respect the right of others to have different views, values and ways of life. We want RE in our school to support our pupils’ spiritual, cultural, social and moral development, encouraging them to become good citizens who are prepared for life in Britain and beyond.
