Curriculum Intent Art
At Wadsworth Fields Primary School we provide children with a challenging and engaging art and design curriculum, guided by the requirements of the National Curriculum. Art and design embodies some of the highest forms of human creativity. By creating a rich and varied art curriculum, we strive to inspire pupils to develop creativity, imagination and personal expression through creating their own art work. Our curriculum is carefully sequenced through the use of a progression model to build on previous learning, developing their skills in drawing, painting, collage, digital art and sculpture. Our curriculum aims to create links with other subjects, developing children’s understanding and awareness of the wider world through studying the work of different artists, historical periods and cultures.
